Scotty Johnson.

Bringing music to the people.

The Feedbags.

My guitar influences growing up were:
Jimmy Page, Joe Pass.

The guitars I use are:
Fender Telecaster.

The strings and tuning I use are: Strings:
10’s, open tuning.

Current rig setup consists of:
Jaguar combo and Hi Tone combo.

The greatest invention for guitars is
One that stays in tune.

My normal songwriting process consists of:
Usually somewhat of a main idea lyrically, then chords. Full lyrics at the end.

Favorite all-time guitar solo from our band:
Jesse Valenzuela on “Girl On The Side”

Favorite all-time guitar solo from another artist:
“Go Down Moses” Grant Green.

Favorite all-time song (any artist) is:
“Could You Be Loved” Bob Marley and the Wailers

Favorite song by our band:
“Follow You Down”.

Favorite song to perform in front of a live audience:
“Follow You Down”

My Career highlight thus far is:
Saturday night Live and Grammy nomination.

My most embarrassing moment on stage:
Zipper down.

Other than my guitar and amps, the one piece of my gear that I cannot live without is:
A pencil. Never go to a rehearsal without one.

The first song I ever mastered on guitar:
“Round About” Yes.

My first guitar was:
60’s Gibson ES 330 just like the one Grant Green played.

The first time I ever heard our band on the radio was:
WOW!, Been awhile... Mrs Rita. Salt Lake City.

If I am only sure of one thing in life, It's:
I am really good with 6 strings and a piece of wood.

The one ritual I always perform prior to going on stage is:
Go to the bathroom.

The exact moment I knew I would pursue a career in music was:
When I was 6 years old I took 2 stick and pounded on some garbage cans. When I stopped the Neighbors next door applauded.

The one thing most fans don't know about me is:
I am a Yogi.

The best advice I could give beginning guitarists:
Try to play a little everyday and don’t worry if you don’t play as fast as the other guys.

Music/Band(s) I'm listening to right now:
Marin Morris.

My 3 all-time favorite albums:
Bob Marley Greatest Hits. Miles Davis Kind of Blue. June Christy Something Cool.

Best gig:
Denver Red Rocks. Played it twice.

Favorite junk food:
Tortilla chips. Hell yeah!

My biggest pet peeve:
Hate flies.

The word or catch phrase I say too much is:
"No fruit please, I am fruity enough".

The hardest part of my job:
Airplanes.

What I like to do in my "off" time:
Yoga and hiking.

The first thing I do when I come home from touring is:
Go to my house, sleep in my bed.

Previous or first day job:
Worked at Tower Records.

Right after this interview I'm going to:
Watch TV.

I couldn't imagine being on the road without:
iPad.

If I wasn't doing the musician thing, I could really see myself working as:
Teacher.

Favorite movie:
38 Days Later

My mission in life:
To not work so much.

My guilty pleasure band or artist:
Spice Girls.

My next goal is:
To play more slide.

The greatest contribution guitars/music have brought into my life is:
Confidence.
